A Trans Am was never a car for the wallflower wanting to fade into the woodwork but this car takes bold to a new level. This color was introduced in 1981 and is called Bright Yellow. This is an extremely rare color offset by the tastefully done two color hood bird in orange.
1981 was the first year Pontiac offered special pricing on option packages making more 1981's loaded than most other years. This car is complete with T-Tops, the WS6 performance package, and a custom interior.
The Chevy 305 installed in this 1981 was a preview of things to come when in 1982 the Chevy 305 would be the only Trans Am engine available until 1987 when the Chevy 350 was introduced. Of course the Pontiac Turbo 4.9 was a step up but was not available for the shift for yourself crowd.
These photos were taken at multiple Saratoga Springs, NY Firebird shows. This is the biggest Firebird gathering in the Northeast.
