Colored Carpet Selections

The 1973 Firebird had the fewest choices of interior colors in the entire second generation run. Gone was the green or blue interior option. This may have been the result of the disappointing sales in 1972 due to the UAW strike.

Perhaps to give the appearance of diversity Pontiac offerred the customer three, separate carpet color options in 1973: Bright Blue, Red, or Orange. This is an extremely rare option, being installed in only 29791 Firebirds that year (6.4%).
